Why Wolverine Makes a Great Halloween Costume

Out of all of the Marvel comic superheroes, Wolverine has always stood alone as my teenage sons favorite. And this year he plans on dressing him up for Halloween as Wolverine. Why? I don't know whether it's his razor sharp claws, or his rugged attitude that made him special to him. Wolverine is more of a loner than any of the other Marvel superheroes which may be one reason he can relate to him.
Wolverine was taken and had experiments done to him, resulting in a metal bone structure that can tear through his hands in the form of claws. Hence the name Wolverine. Though you know him as Wolverine, his real name is James Howlett, but he is also called Logan.
Besides the army equipped claws, Wolverine has the ability to heal. He is forced to suffer the pain of his claws ripping through his hands every time he discharges them. He also has heightened senses replicating that of an animal. And my son loves the fact that there does not seem to be an object that Wolverine can't penetrate with his claws.
He is strong as an ox, actually stronger. Lets face it, he is a mutant. He uses his mutant powers to fight crime and protect the human race. Though Wolverine has a hard outer shell, and hard inner shell, he does have a soft side. He tends to look over some of the younger Marvel heroes as almost a father figure. He may be a dysfunctional father figure, but he is one none the less which I think is another reason my son wants to wear a Wolverine costume.
Not only do I like the leadership role that Wolverine plays, but I enjoy many other of his traits too. Wolverine has a real attitude and enjoys calling people bub. Wolverine also has a soft side for Jean Grey, which he is attracted to. This leads him to have a problem with Cyclops, due to the fact that Jean Grey and Cyclops have a history.
Though Wolverine has a small problems with Cyclops, he never lets it get in the way of fighting crime. There are many reasons why Wolverine is my son's favorite comic book superhero. I would have to say all in all, Wolverine is a bad boy that uses his powers for good - and looks good doing it too. Though he has a hard outer shell and a bad attitude, he is still a likeable superhero.
I also like the fact that he can do all of these special things without needing the ability of flight. Many superheroes can fly but the fact that Wolverine can't, but still keeps up with the heroes that can, shows his unique abilities. Sharp claws, brute strength, and the ability to heal make Wolverine a valuable superhero and a great Marvel costume. And the one my son will be wearing this Halloween.
